Do I Really Need to Buy All These Different Boxes?

Moving and storing can be stressful enough without worrying about your possessions once you have packed them. Here at Whirlwind Storage we offer an array of boxes. You may be asking yourself, Why do I need to buy boxes when I can get some for free at the grocery store, aren’t they just as good? In short the answer would be no, the used boxes are not as good as the new ones.
Everyone is familiar with the regular boxes such as small, medium, and large, but do you honestly know what to pack in them? Now your answer might be, sure I throw stuff in them, tape them up, and move. However each size box is specially made for certain items. Small boxes are useful for heavy items such as books, cds, sheet sets, canned goods, and small household items. Medium boxes are perfect for clothes, kitchen items, toys, small appliances, and electronic items. Large boxes are meant for lightweight objects such as lamp shades, games, pillows and blankets.

What about the specialty boxes? The dish barrel box and cell kit are for fragile items like china and antiques. The dish saver kit has 32 pouches and cell-divider units, while the glass pack kit has 18 pouches and cell divider units, and both fit perfectly in the dish saver box. Our lamp box is meant to keep your lamps safe from braking while you move and dust free while they are stored. The mirror box is great for pictures and of course mirrors. The last type of box we offer are wardrobe boxes handy for, you guessed it, your wardrobe.
So those boxes from your local grocery store may be free and good for short term moves like across the street but they don’t protect your things long-term. These boxes can also be weakened by heavy weight, water damage which can tip over and collapse with your belongings in them. They are also targets for bugs. New boxes stack better, retain their shape, and are more reliable for long-term storage or long distance moves.

In short, yes you probably do need all those different boxes.

Those boxes that you have bought from the grocery store are prone to bugs and can be weakened by putting more weight on it. So that's why buying new boxes are necessary as they retain for long..

For moving process you definitely need such different size boxes because in small boxes you can place heavy items and in big boxes you can place little items. In this way your belongings can be moved carefully by using those boxes.
